Explore beyond Ericeira

Only an hour ride south or north of Ericeira, you’ll find so much to explore - from beautiful long sandy beaches, rolling hills, dramatic cliffs, olive groves, vineyards and forests, to historic villages and towns. Lisbon - Portuguese buzzing capital is 45 min drive or an hour bus ride.

South of Ericeira lies Sintra - Cascais National Park, with its hills, pine forests and valleys, villages and lighthouses atop cliffs (including Cabo da Roca, the westernmost part of Europe mainland), beautiful golden sand beaches like the beach and sand dunes of Guincho. A short ride away you can explore picturesque coastal towns like Azenhas do Mar, beautiful parks and exquisite palaces of Sintra, and beautiful streets and trendy shops, bars and restaurants of Cascais.

North of Ericeira you find more will long sandy beaches and charming beach towns like Peniche, with its big surfing community. Peniche and its world famous Supertubos beach break, hosts World Surf Championship. Further up North you’ll find growingly famous Nazaré, home to some of the biggest waves on the world, and one of four sites of Big Wave Tour (big wave surf competition). Inland from Peniche lies Obidos, a beautiful medieval fortified town full of charm and history.
